Steam Jacketed Tilting Kettle

At the risk of oversimplifying, a steam jacketed tilting kettle is a big pot used for cooking food — and it’s great for cooking high volumes of liquid.

The “steam jacketed” part of the name refers to the outer layer of the pot, which holds circulating steam, and heats the kettle evenly (like a jacket).

At OAFVC, our steam jacketed kettle can be tilted (hence the name steam jacketed tilting kettle) making it easier to transfer contents in and out of the kettle. This is especially useful for transferring contents deeper in the kettle.

Steam jacketed kettles usually have a valve or tap at the bottom, which makes it easy to decant or strain off liquids. This makes it great for cooking large volumes of:

  • Stock
  • Gravy
  • Sauces
  • Soups
  • Pastas

Tilting Skillet

Also known as a braising pan, a tilting skillet is basically a large pan, heated by gas or electricity.

With even heat distribution, it cooks without burning food and it’s great for large volumes of food that need to be:

  • Grilled
  • Fried
  • Simmered
  • Braised
  • Steamed

Sauté meats or steam vegetables — or simmer sauces — in bulk. Just like our steam jacketed tilting kettle, our skillet can also be tilted; making it easy to transfer products for cooling and packaging.
